someone put in a new spider assembly in my chevy 1500 99 model, can water get into the oil from this
had a spider assembly put into my truck. now there is water in my oil.could it have been
from someone doing something wrong in putting it in or just bad timeing
Probably just timing, the intake gaskets on this engine are not the best design in the world, that would be my first guess, the other one would be blown headgaskets. The first thing to do is have the engine "block checked" this will tell you if combustion gasses are getting into the cooling system, if no gasses are present then it most likely will be a leaking intake into the engine valley. If gasses are present then it is time for a headgasket job. Hope this helps.
what is a spider assembly? sounds poisonous~
there is a "spider gear" in your pumpkin, if you've a standard differential but this is not in the path of oil or coolant~
OK operator13 a spider is what most techs call the fuel injection on a Vortec engine design, and they do go haywire. Just do a search under GM fuel spider and you can look at one.
whooo...it is poisonous~
ok i forgot to say that he had to put the Spider assembly in because the old one cracked or something and gas got into the oil and fouled the plugs.he had to break it down to the manafold at least. and now there is water in the oil and lifters are clicking and mabey messed up the bearrings. please forgive my spelling ,so with this info do you think that it could be that the guy did something wrong or didnt do the job right?
coust me all the money i had 1,400.00 almost 1,500.00 dollars
it is poisonous...sell it~
