Yes....I did it in my 2003 dodge Durango...I forgot the reason I ran it...Think there was a computer, or sensor problem that I was to lazy to diagonise at the time, So I ran it directly with an on & off switch. It will cool down the engine. Just don't forget to shut it off if it's a straight battery run....

The Bank will not be happy with a switch to the cooling fan. The satellite may take aim on your car with a laser and that wouldn't be good. I would get it fixed properly rather than cobble things together.
