What electrical problems will be solved by replacing a BCM with a new one

We put a brand new ignition in my 2003 monte carlo LS we program it and still no crank....what could it be?

I hope your problems are solved by now. For future reference my 04 ss had security light on and no crank issue. Chevy told me it was igniton cylinder. I didn't believe their diagnosis so I took a look at the b.c.m. Sure enough the wires were a little loose so I wiggled the connector while cranking engine and it fired right up. Been fine ever since! Cool cars but electrical nightmares!
