My car is having heating up and it's having trouble picking speed

Asked by Dec 15, 2014 at 11:31 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If your car is over heating, it will need a new thermostat. As for the lack of speed issue, try doing a full tune up. New plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter. Not sure if the 2001 has a cap and rotor or coil packs. If a cap and rotor, replace that as well. If coil packs, replace those. You may have a bad coil. Pretty sure you have coil packs.........
