Can i put a 1991 monte Carlo engine inside
a 1997 monte Carlo

I'm pretty sure you can. Some of the mounts may be different but can be changed.

The electronics are different. 1991 is OBD I, 1997 is OBD II. Completely different computer systems. HTH. -Jim
