Cold start problem, with my 2000 Astro van
I have a 2000. Astro van it sits for weeks sometimes without being started
,when it does start which takes along time ,sometimes run the batterie down
trying it seems to be flooded blue smoke will come with heavy unburned gas
smell out the exhaust ,now here,s the kicker if you drive it daily it runs and
Sounds like a firing issue, have you replaced plugs lately?
Hi, I agree with T_S_T. Expanding on what he said, Check wires, cap/rotor, and plugs. Do a computer diagnostic. Van engines are a PAIN to work on. Ignition included!! Ignition is NOT the time/place to scrimp! No, no, no. Recently had a bad ignition miss-ss-ss. Fixed it with BOSCH Iridium/Platinum +4 plugs, MSD wires, and an Airtex Rotor And Distributor Cap Kit. BRASS contacts!! The cherry on top. ;) While I bought the best I could get. I did shop around. Bought this stuff through Amazon.com (this time). All things considered I didn't spend that much. Again, shop around. 8-) Aim small, miss small.
