Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am trying to figure out what needs to be done. My
boyfriend over filled the transmission fluid in my
car and since then it is not going into any of the
drive gears it will only run in reverse?

Overfilling will not cause that type of problem, it could be a gear selector switch not sending the proper signals, the Transmission control module not turning the shift solenoids, the shift solenoids themselves or considering the age of the rig a wiring problem. If your really concerned about too muck fluid you can purchase a suction gun and some hose and slide it down the dipstick tube and pull enough out to bring it back too specs, and see what happens, or tow it to a tranny shop so they can plug in and see if the systems responds to the inputs they provide and if the system sends out the proper signals, then they can tell you what went wrong and how much it will cost.
