2006 Corolla le starts but wont run very long
I have a 2006 corolla. One day it decided to be started but not run long. It will
run for about 3-4 minutes then die. Starts right up. While its running it seems
to idle fine but if you give it gas it doesn't do anything. Sometimes it will start
right back up but with the same results. Sometimes it won't start. I can go to it
a few days later and it will instantly start like nothing is wrong but gas peddle
is useless. One day started it up and let it run for about an hour. Drove it
around the block, parked it, shut it off, then wouldn't start again. Stared e next
day tho. Ran for about 4 minutes, again, useless gas peddle.
When it first happened I got it towed home and put a used(88,000 miles) fuel
pump. Same deal. Changed the fuel rail because of built in fuel pressure
regulator. You know by now. Same problem. Dang.
Since this vehicle doesn't have a throttle cable, its not that. So it seems it runs
from some sensor for gas pedal talking to some sensor for throttle I'm
wondering if it could be some sorta sensor or brain or???
