On the 2006 corolla manual trans. car, my foot is big and I don't always push down the clutch pedal far enough because of the left foot rest on the floor. can this rest be removed? How/how hard is it?

Question type: Car Customization

left foot rest is just slightly to the left of the clutch pedal and if your foot or boot is large, sometimes it is difficult to remember to move the left foot far enough to the right to push the clutch pedal down far enough to disengage the clutch when shifting gears. Now, what is under that rubber left foot rest and will it be a problem if the rubber rest is removed?

I just went outside to my 2006 Corolla and the footrest just pops off, there is nothing underneath except 2 square pieces of steel or aluminum whatever, that stick out of the floorboard the footrest clips on to.
