crankshaft not working after replacing alternator

THEY HAVE TO FIX IT...

The crank sensor wires run right there along the alternator. More and likely they snagged the crank sensor wiring when removing alternator. They need to be responsible. Common issue when rushing instead of removing harmonic balancer.

And moving crank sensor. It's part of the procedure on the toyota Dianna. Pretty sure the avalon is the same procedure

He insists that changing the alternator is no where near the sensor and maybe the sensor was going bad already and after changing the alternator it went totally bad. My car never had an issue starting. Now he trying to say because i refused a diagnostic there no way of telling if it was bad before fixing the part. But he said ran a check in the alternator which was found to be bad just like i said

He says sensor is all the way in the back under the motor

No ma'am the sensor is located on side of motor it's mounted to block that picks up the tone ring on crankshaft timing gear. The wires from crank sensor run up side of motor right beside alternator. The car was running before and now it's not. You can Google it and it will show exactly where it's at

All toyota motors that are mounted for front wheel drive that run timing belt has a crank sensor that runs up side of motor and attach behind or right around alternator. The 2.2. The 3.0. The 3.3. And the 3.5.

They broke the sensor. Don't let them tell you otherwise. I've worked on many toyotas. Just Google it. And show technician.

Still trying to say that the sensor may have gone bad after replacing the alternator. "Its a chain of events"

I just asked him to show me where the sensor is, he said well the technician already left. Let me see what i can do. Because we both already know where the sensor is

Yes ma'am. Don't let them get you. Mechanic should have been paying attention. There is also a small bracket attached to the alternator that holds the crank sensor wiring so it doesn't get tangled in belt

The sensor just doesn't go bad. I've hardly ever have to replace a crank sensor on any toyota. You would have been experiencing some symptom of running issues. Hard start or very sluggish acceleration or running at all.

Also they have already lied to you telling you the sensor isn't near the alternator.
