IF automatic, have the engine warm and on. In park on level surface. Pull dipstick, wipe clean with clean rag, reinsert, pull out, lower side is the level. Keep it between the cross hatched area or holes in the dipstick. Add a little at a time if you need to add. you don't want to overfill.
