Dex/Merc, also know as Dextron III and or Mercon, Look at your owners manual to clarify.

1995 Bird might want Type F, check owner's manual -is Mercon acceptable substitute or should Type F be used if specified? Just asking?

Type F was used up to the early 80's. Mercon, the Ford licensed name, and or Dextron III the GM licensed name was used after that. So in '95, definitely the newer stuff.

how much trans fluid does the trans hold

The 4R70W holds 13 quarts, Ford suggests mercon V inplace of the older stuff
