How do I set the timing in a 1978 corvette con vertible? Its a stock 350 tuned port injection engine. New coil and ignition control module. A mechanic put in the new distributor and swears the timing is right. He timed it at 6 degrees, and said after that the computer takes over. But it won't idle and it pings when i step on it. Any advice? I've spent this month's budget so I'm in the DIY mode for a month.?
