How do I remove retainer clip on steering column collar on 1965 Covette non-telescopic so I can remove collar to install turning signal wiring harness?

Asked by Nov 20, 2015 at 02:35 PM about the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Roadster

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can't get wiring harness of turn signal switch through collar unless I remove it
or cut all the harness wires and route them through collar one at a time.

I would suggest looking for the right type of retainer-clip removal tool or retainer-clip pliers, they make all sorts/types, somewhere out there is one that will make your task easier. I would avoid cutting your wires at all cost, that will create more problems than solve.
