how to glue rear view mirror 2003 crv

Asked by Sep 03, 2014 at 10:59 PM about the 2003 Honda CR-V LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

there is a black patch on the windshield where the metal tab goes. I got a generic glue kit
fron auto zone and followed directions. it fell off the next day. is there a special glue for
this year?

1 Answer

The glass must first be cleaned with an alcohol wipe. Then glue the metal "button" to the glass without the mirror attached. Wait 24 hours. Then attach the mirror to the metal button. Waiting the 24 hours is very important. The glue must cure completely before attaching the mirror. Or the mirror will fall right off again. HTH. -Jim
