When you gather around the grill today.
Take a moment to remember our brave service men and woman and their families in
your prayers. They sacrifice so much so we can live in this great country. May God
bless and keep them safe in their travels.
May God protect each & every serviceman and woman who are still in battle and doing their jobs in the service of the USA. However, a HUGE debt of gratitude goes to the working classes and the trade and labor unions who literally fought (and some who died) in the fight for better working conditions in the 1800's. A lot of immigrants back then were making $1.50/day, working in excess of a 60 work week and working 6 days a week. They simply wanted what we may take for granted: An 8 hour work day. I'm blessed to be employed and pray that those seeking employment during these challenging times are able to do so. If you're so inclined, please read about the events that led up to Labor Day in the USA,, particularly the Knights of Labor and the Haymarket Massacre in Chicago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_Day
