New Jaguar 5.0 305ci 510hp engine

Asked by tomero Apr 07, 2010 at 07:22 PM about the 1985 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Coupe RWD

Question type: Car Customization

Just a thought;
Who knows if this new Jaguar engine which is the same size as the engine in my 1985 Camaro IROC Z28 yet has much more horsepower. would fit and what modifications would be necessary re: plumbing, upgrades, tranny, rearend, brakes etc.?  Or could I achieve this same type of horsepower with just upgrades to my wempy TPI 5.0 305ci 215hp V8?  If so what would I need to upgrade horsepower?
Thanks,
Tom

do a ls series swap into your iroc. theres kits for it to make it simple. probably get a lot more torque too

Yeah, stick with a Chevrolet small block. The swap will be much easier and cheaper. Plus you can get the same if not better power than the Jaguar engine.
