89 camaro won't start
I got a 89 camaro rs 2.8l and it won't start I have
checked everything I can think of until I found this
thing I'll put a picture in here its right under the coil
and I don't know what it is and what it does or how
to hook it up any help would be appreciated thanks
Where your finger is would be the original ignition coil. Do you have spark and fuel? HTH. -Jim
Why are you asking me this, I gave no idea..I'm not a mechanic
I'm assuming that you're working on the vehicle. That's why I asked. An engine needs 3 things to run. Spark, fuel, and compression. HTH. - Jim
Yea I'm working on it please keep in mind I'm only 17 so I don't know everything lol buy I'm tryin and it's weird because there's another coil that was on there right about my hand so I switched but I need a new battery now so I'll update as soon as I get one which will be here shortly
I have fuel but no spark Btw
Ok, no problem. It looks like, from the picture, that someone else had a similar problem and installed another ignition coil. Remove the cylinder shaped ignition coil. It's not supposed to be there. When you have the ignition in the run position, check for power at the ignition coil. You should have about 6 to 8 volts DC. HTH. -Jim
The coil wire should be connected to the ignition coil on one end and the center tower of the distributor cap on the other end. HTH. - Jim
