Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla with 75,000 miles.  When I put the key in and turn it on, it makes a loud grinding noise.  I have to turn the key quickly and release so I dont hear the noise and it starts fine.  This just started in the past couple of weeks here in the winter.  Help?

Need to have the starter checked out. Sounds like the starter drive is not meshing correctly into the ring-gear to turn the engine over.

My corolla has been doing that for years, just live with it.
