Ok have a 1987 golf gti 1.8 16v with 130000 on it just bought it I went to go change the air filter and it's full of oil along with the whole intake any ideas?

yes install both new hoses, there cheap, you will have to replace all plugs, once they get fouled with oil, there done, and replace breather filter ,when starting DON"T PUMP GAS or they will foul again, had one and evertime it got damp it would not start and foul plugd after ckingwe fould a small hairline crack in the dist cap, replaced and it was fine,

1998 beetle. Went for oil change. As soon as they completed it my check engine light came on. They checked code, was some emmissions code. Okay so the light goes out 2 days later. A few days later the car wont start, like it is out of gas, it's turning but not catching. I let it sit for 1/2 hr then it starts and the engine light back on. Everything fine for a few days then the same thing happens out of the blue. Just happened again to me. Car was fine, no light on then i go somewhere, park it, get back in and it wont start like its out of gas...let it sit for half hour and then it starts like nothing was wrong and the engine light back on now. What could be wrong? I am not out of gas. Did the guy doing the oil change/new filter mess something up? 6 Answers

I have a 1998 cw cabriolet Conv. This morning I started the car and let it warm up. A bit and drove away, put gas in n went to giant foodstores. A total of 3-4 miles. Halfway, the oil light came on and I found out at store that oil was severely leaking from beneath, I put a quart in and it got me back to gas station. I checked under hood n found oil seemed to b spraying left side -facing engine all over and beneath oil pan was drenched n dripping with oil?! I have 2 put a quart in just to get a mile or 2? It only started when I was warming up car this morning. The heat hauteur is fine n when I put oil in it runs good until light comes on?? Help 2 Answers
