I have a vw golf 2001 at 89100 miles
and was wondering what is the best
grade of engine oil to put in it thanks

What you have been using seems to be working so stick with it.

I am not sure sorry should have said I have only had the car a month

If you don't have an owner's manual, they can be found online. Put in what the manufacturer designed it for. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    The oil light keeps coming on but there is plenty of oil in there. Also, when the car is not in gear, the engine revs itself, dropping down to bellow 1000rpm's, then shooting up to around 3000rpm's
