is it harmful to the engine to allow a car to idle/warm up?

the opposite it is beneficial to allow your car to idle for at least 1 minute before driving. especially if your driving a older car with high mileage.

warm up for one minute, like he said- get the oil temperature up to make it flow smoothly-
