Oil pres. dropped and coolant temp goes up both at the same time? 1995 pontiac firebird 3.4Lv6

Just had new valve cover gaskets
put in because of oil leak and new
thermo. Put in because it was
sticking

Sounds like you are losing a ground. If this didn't start until it was worked on that's where I would look first.

Had a car once doing the same thing and it turned out to be faulty oil pump. Use caution because if it's actually getting hotter and low oil pressure you will spin a rod or main bearing.
