Can someone please advise if ALL 1976 Trans Am's had the dashboard grab bar???
I owned one in 1976, it was stolen 2 weeks after purchasing it, BUT it had the grab bar, now, in 2010 just was able to replace my baby, a 1976 Trans Am, same everything, BUT, no grab bar. This car is 100% original, but I cannot believe no grab bar, whats up with that??/ Can someone help???

my 1977 trans am did not have it either.it is located above the glove box on the cars with the up graded interior as i remember.i think it came with a package power windows ,air.my friend had it on his 1978 gold special edition. Pauldh
My 78 has one, has pw, but no air, or t tops. I have had 2 other 78's, both did not have the grab bar, both were 4 speeds, one was a gold edition.
Umm your trans am was stolen 2 weeks after you boiht It and they never found it ? :-/ My 1976 Trans Am Doesn't have it either bit that's because it has the Standard interior. Yet its got Everything power but standard upholstery. I'm going to upgrade it to the deluxe interior and get The handle for it. It only costs like 35 bucks.
