Did i break anything?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive a 2013 mazda bt50 4x4. I went
to a mall yesterday. Upon aproaching
the ramp, i experienced a slip so i
engaged my 4H, then i forgot to turn it
off. I drove about 500 meters  on dry,
very high traction concrete surface
with about 4 very steep climb and
sharp turns, then i experienced axle
binding. My 4H wont disengage. So i
made a reverse and it eased the
binding. After that, everything worked
fine. Did i do damage to my car?
Should i replace any fluid?

I doubt you hurt anything, but it sounds like you don't use the 4X4 much, remember you are suppose to engage the 4 wheel drive at least once a month, find a nice gravel road and put it in 4 wheel drive and just drive up and down it a few times, but don't exceed 40 MPH, only takes about 3 miles or so in 4 hi to keep everything working, now 4 low is a different story, the same gravel road will work but your speed will be greatly reduced, don't exceed 20MPH. I don't know what kind of trails you have around you but I take my of the beaten path once a month and use both low and Hi ranges, so far no problems getting into or out of any range in the transfercase.
