BMW sold my deposited vehicle

Anyone had experience how to resolve BMW sold a customer reserved car?

My local BMW dealer and I agreed on a certified BMW (was a BMW loaner
car  but selling as in a new car condition). I paid deposit and my local dealer
arranged the transportation from a sister BMW dealership. I have gotten
several confirmations that the transaction is settled and I will get the car on
time from my local shop. Two days after the original arriving date, my local
deal told me the sister BMW dealership sold the car behind our  back.
Currently, other than offer the deposit back, my local BMW is not taking any
responsibility to broke the "contract"on their side (not written form). Couldn't
find a similar car and deal currently.

The mother company of both BMW dealerships is Sonic Automotive. Anyone
please help on how resolve it. Should it be bring to Sonic Automotive or BMW
North America?

I hear of those tactics all the time. You are not the only one. Dealers will sell vehicles to the first person that comes along with payment, and usually a higher one even with signed contracts and deposits. Is it right? No, but it happens. Is it worth pursuing to complain? I would let both parties know you are not happy, maybe a call to BMW, but it won't change the situation. The car is not going to be yours. As long as you get your deposit back, I would take my business elsewhere in the future.
