Motor change out

Have a 1984 jeep cj7 with a 4 cylinder.
Wanting to put an inline or straight six
in it for more power. Appreciate any

Trouble with an engine swap is the transmission and pcm has to work in harmony with each other, and engine, then the rear still may need beefed to handle everything, unless you go with an older carburetor drive line trans and engine. a thought I have is a dodge Cummings diesel drive in a CJ they look like would be a nice fit and readily available on the lower budget. some nice stacks, black smoke, Oh well ill dream on
