I'm going to but a car soon and want to know is it better to buy a more expensive used car or a cheaper new one. I'm looking at a 2014 Ford Taurus Limited Mileage: 26,268 $ 19,800 or a 2016 Focus SE Sedan 17,495.

Depends on what you want. The Taurus and Focus are different size vehicles, so not a good comparison. Find a vehicle you want and compare the model years between them. You won't get much of of a deal buying used until you get around 3-5 years out, and then stay under 100K miles if you plan on keeping it long term. Always have the vehicle you pick at the dealer checked out/inpsected by your mechanic before you purchase it to make sure everything is in working order.

The new one comes with factory warranty and that is a plus. Like Tom said, it depends on what you want. If the 2014 is a CPO car and comes with warranty that is also a plus. Taxes and insurance may be higher on the more expensive car.
