can u remove the back tank completely from a 1990 ford f150 so tjere will not be a back flow from yhe front yank?

replaced fuel pump but it keep flowing
into back tank, and wont send to
carborator and wont ctank

The most common problem with these is the fuel tank switching valve, it gets stuck between tanks, what the engine won't take from the front tank it returns to the rear fuel tank, then sometimes they get stuck the other way, what the engine won't take from the rear get returned to the front. Just removing the rear tank wont cure the fuel return problem, in fact it may cause a very bad fuel leak.
