i have a 02 explorer,i drove it all day,no signs of anything,ran in house for 10 plus minutes...now its starts and when i shift to any gear ...nothing....can trans go out suddenly

Check the trans Fluid .... maybe it's empty

Electronic trannys are weird, they work fine one minute and then bam you dead in the water, fluid level and condition are top priority with today's trannies, check the level, if it is good look at the color, it should be a bright red, if not smell it, if it has a burnt smell then it' s time for an overhaul.
