Have 1990 ford tbird sc. The electric windows roll down. But wont roll up under own power? Hear motor working? Sounds like maybe gears skipping?

Ive had door panel off cant see in there. It does go up with assistance. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions before i take motor out?

inspect the link for a cracked gear housing~...or fallen link and failed retaining clip...should be immediately obvious once you get the door panel off~


WTF? Pull the door panel, drill out the indicated indentations, use a 5/16" socket and remove the three bolts holding the window motor in place, remove the single screw holding the gear cover in place, replace the GEAR KIT and reassemble. Clips? Links? Huh?
