You should be able to go in and out of 4x4 while moving (up to about 55 MPH) or stopped. Doesn't matter if the selector is a manual shift on the floor or push button on the dash. That being said 4low is a different story. You have to be stopped and the transmission has to be in neutral before you can select 4 low. Then put the transmission in reverse or drive and off you go. Top speed in 4 low is about 30-35 MPH. Shifting back out of 4 low is done the same way. Stopped, in neutral then select 4 hi or 2wd.
