1988 GMC is not turning over what so ever

when i turn my key i hear a faint click then my gages start getting funky and my truck
does not turn over prior to this happening i noticed that it had been starting roughly,

Hi, sounds like your battery.... but before you replace it check all the cables at the battery and on the starter for tightness. if a cable is loose it will also click like you described
