Have a 94 gmc box truck 7.4L. Runs great in park but wants to die in drive. Changed plugs and wires, now i have a code for IAC would that cause it to die in gear?

Yes after that pull the big tube off the throttle body and clean the throttle plate in there it will be all black and carboned up. When done disconnect battery for 10 minutes this will clear code and reset idle to factory presets. Good luck

i sprayed a whole can of carb clean in it. going to pull cables and see what happens. sounds like it is starving for fuel or air. possible distributor?

Even being in park the truck will still roll forward. In order to stop it I have to place a rock in front of the tire or place it in 4WD, like it sits right now.

I drive 1994 gmc sierra 5.7 SLT it idles fine in park and in gear at a stop light. Now when I take off from a light it seems to have little to what power and it takes forever to get up to speed. 1 answer
Now when I take off and get up on it it shifts from 1st to 2nd at 3500 rpm is my transmission going out?
