What can be the issue if my gas tank dont open to my 2001 cadillac dts?

Fuse,or could be bad switch,and yes there should be a lever for it in trunk at the side where gas filler is.

There should be a lacth to pull in the trunk to open the gas door,may be behind carpet panel on filler side .
