2002 suburban cranks/wont start after ignition harness replacement

Asked by Woodbn Feb 27, 2017 at 06:45 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I started having issues with headlights not wanting
to dim, turn signals still "ticking" after making a
turn, then I lost all dash gauges and the trans was
stuck in 3rd gear. Check engine code was for
ignition harness. I replaced the multifunction switch
first, then the ignition harness. After the harness
was installed the truck will only roll over, it will not
fire. A friend said I needed to reset the security
system, so I researched how to do that. The
problem is when I roll the key to the on position,
then attempt to start, then leave in the on position, I
don't have anything in the message center except
got a battery light. There is no flashing security light.
Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm out of ideas!

Anyone out there experiencing anything similar? I am thinking a factory reset on the security system at the dealer but wanted to check before I go shelling out $$$
