Can I remove the power driver's seat (has an air bag) from my 2006 Chev Uplander safely, and install it in a 2008 with a non-power seat?

You can't remove the seat, your air bag light will stay on and this is something that you can not bypass.

I should have mentioned that I'm junking the 2006. If I try to remove the seat, might the airbag deploy? And would getting power to the seat, once in the 2008, be a problem?

The power is not a problem, the bag will not deploy...

Disconnect the battery and in about 5 minutes or more remove the seat.
