1979 z28 possible upgrades

Question type: Car Customization

Just wondering if anyone knows what might
have been done to the engine in my 1979
z28 camaro I bought it as the 3rd owner 2nd
owner barely drove it but the first owner
rebuilt the engine from what I'm told the 2nd
owner told me the 1st owner said it was
pushing 300 hp and stock it's only 190-220
depending on an option package I noticed it
says 358 on the block looks like some one
put it on though and it has an eddlebrock
4bl and distributer and aftermarket heads
just wondering if anyone thinks this
indicates piston/cam work was done as
well and what the most likely  upgrades
would be it's going to be awhile untill i get to
tear it apart so figured I'd ask thanks in

I'd suspect a cam was done and the heads shaved for higher compression, and roller rocker arms as well. The cylinders may have been bored or possibly just honed to clean them up. HTH. - Jim
