Is there such thus as getting a good reliable car on
carguru for $500 down

Sure why not, but you are going to pay more on your monthly payments. So I would say as much sas you can before shopping for a car..

I doubt it. $500 down with average credit would probably only get you a car worth two or three grand.

I just want something that will last awhile, until I save some more for better vehicle.

A car that cost $4,999 with a down payment of $500 is a reasonable price for reliable car. Right? If so, why would you need to finance it?
