Dry gas is a fuel additive mostly composed of alcohol and is used to remove water from gasoline and prevent water contaminated gasoline from freezing. But with the regular alcohol content in gasoline these days, many drivers no longer add it to their fuel tank. The alcohol in gasoline is Ethanol. There is no indication that dry gas additive has a harmful effect in engines. Although the fluid itself is actually called dry gas, there is one brand of this additive named Drygas. This is from an article that appeared in a car magazine last year, it does not mention any brands of dry gas other than the one above. I hope this helps.
