Why does 4x4 have no shifter, use to other
older cars with it

The CR-V is AWD not 4X4. So a FWD vehicle till wheel slippage is detected via the ABS system, and power is sent to the rear wheels with no driver input. Your thinking of a true 4x4, like a Jeep or Pickup truck.
