Was there a return spring that you left loose? Did you bleed the system?

I tried to bleed it but can't get the air out of the line

You may need a helper to do it right. You can also buy a brake bleeding setup at your local car parts store. I use Mityvac.

Did you try gravity bleeding the system? https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-bleed-a-slave- cylinder-by-rocco-lovetere

If you didn't bench bleed the master before installing then you will be bleeding it for while. Keep at it, start with the passenger rear and work your way around.
