what model and type suv is ideal for st petersburg, fl weather?  i am moving there
for a job and need to ditch my new england toyota corolla. thanks

Jeep renegade, nissan rouge, mazda CX-5 are a few decent choices.

I would avoid any car with a CVT transmission. A Jeep Wrangler that you can remove the top from would be fun.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is probably the best compromise between decent space and fuel economy. They are available with a turbocharges inline 4. Excellent gas mileage. Not to mention the 100,000 mile warranty program on new ones.
