Bmw with high idle after battery change
I changed my Bmw 6 series battery today. But for
some reason my idle won't go down. It stay up high
as if the car just started.
You may have lost some engine programming. If it does not idle down you need to go to a BMW shop or dealer.
You didn't state what year it is, but anything after 2005 you need a special tool to keep the memory programming active when the main power supply is disconnected or you run the risk of loosing the factory presets. I recommend driving it for at least 20 minutes and see if it relearns, this is called a drive cycle. If it doesn't straight out after that then a trip to the dealer is needed.
