How often should I detail my car I got the new in
August and I'm hoping to detail my car in May for
my birthday is this too soon

Detailing is up to you. It all depends on how sharp you want your car to look. I would wash it and vacuum the interior once a week. A duster and Meguiar's Quick Detailer will keep it looking good between washes. Garaging the car is the #1 thing to keep it looking good year after year. Mequiar's website has lots of good car care advice.
