03 s10 4x4 swap to 2wd transmission

Will a 2wd transmission from an
03 s10 4.3l work in a 03 s10 4x4
4.3l 4door truck

Probably not. I think the transfer case has to bolt up to the transmission. If it is a divorced transfer case then maybe it could work. If it is possible to change out the transmission tail piece to the 4x4 part then maybe it could work but you would need a transmission expert to know for sure.
