94 Chevy 1 ton with a 454

I replaced my fuel pump and now my
truck acts like it's choking out all the
time won't stay running I have to to put
it but before I change the fuel pump I
put in a used filter in line I know no
used stuff but anybody have any clues
to what might be my problem
