Accelerator linkage retracting spring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am having trouble finding the correct throttle spring for my 1965 ford F-100,
i have one on there currently but it is extremely stiff and my grandfather says
that is dangerous to have too tough of a throttle spring, I have looked almost
everywhere and can't find one, and i would rather not buy a whole new
carburetor kit just for the spring, if anyone knows a good website or knows
where to find one, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am wondering if a
throttle spring for a 1948-1952 ford would also work.

Have you tried a hardware store? They often times have a big selection of springs. Have you tried vintageford.com?
