02 Cavalier transmission problems

Just bought a 2002 cavalier. The car will shift fine
into 1st 2nd 5th and reverse but grinds when trying
to shift into 3rd or 4th. Is the tranny shot or is there
a simpler fix

I picked up a used tranny for 80 bucks. If it comes out ill just swap it. I was just wondering if i bleed the clutch if it would fix my problem

May not be a bad idea as you will have to bleed the $80 trans if you replace it and a good way to learn how to do it.
