Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 1.85 Nissan Sentra started jerking
and rattling yesterday. It is drivable, but it
constantly shakes. It feels as though it
wants to lose power.

Just to chime in on this. Has the timing belt been replaced? If not replace. On the flip side valves rattling could be a timing belt/timing issue or cam all they way to bad gas. Plugs ect I would do a full service turn up, everything not just oil & radiator fluids, but belts, PCV valve, plugs, wires to trans if auto, check all vacuum lines. Test, Confirm, Clean, Replace. If the timing belt slips to far or breaks goodbye engine.
